The list of documents that illegal immigrants can submit to the California Department of Motor Vehicles to prove their identity when applying for a driver's license has been expanded. The DMV has announced that it will accept passports from Tonga, Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea, as well as consular cards from Colombia and Ecuador.
The DMV will no longer accept foreign birth certificates, expect during the secondary review process, where applicants are interviewed by a DMV investigator, the Associated Press reports.
